Seafarers Awareness Week – Further Information
Monday 26th June – Aberdeen Harbour Board (http://www.aberdeen-harbour.co.uk/) visit to the harbour which will include a presentation about ‘what they do’ and ‘careers available’, a tour of their site, including a visit to their ship simulator and VTS (vessel traffic system, similar to air traffic control for aircraft). This tour will take around 1.5 hours.
Tuesday 27th, Wednesday 28th and Thursday 29th June – We have ‘Careers at sea’ Ambassadors available to visit schools to deliver a 1 hour talk/presentation on careers available ‘at sea’ and offer advice and information on career pathways.
Friday 30th June – Serco Northlink Ferries (http://www.northlinkferries.co.uk/) have offered a tour of one of their passenger ships, this includes living quarters, Captain’s Bridge and Engine Room. This tour will take 2.5 hours.
