Time:            12.30-1.30pm

Nicole Lloyd will give the first STEM Tech20 talk at the OGTC. Nicole is currently studying for Pursuing a Doctorate in Microbiology at the University of Texas at Austin.

Her talk will focus on her experiences and the opportunities that STEM subjects can provide both in an industrial and educational context.

It will also give insights into her work experience at NASA and her involvement in the Scottish Space School. Every summer 100 successful S5 Scottish school pupils attend a week-long residential summer school which is part of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Strathclyde’s very successful outreach programme.

She has had a variety of experiences at NASA Johnson Space Centre including work in engineering, lab research, and data analysis. At the University of Texas, she has also had experience with teaching/education as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant, while also continuing to practice her lab skills. Her engineering background has a focus in robotics. Nicole has also been with the Scottish Space School since it was created and has seen the program grow and evolve.

It should be a fun and informative view on the variety of opportunities available to individuals thinking of studying or taking a career in STEM subjects.
