A group of S3 pupils took part in a series of lessons over two days recently with the group having a site visit to Leiths Quarry in Dyce at the end of the second day.  This was a very successful opportunity which was delivered by Dale Lyon of Concrete Scotland.  This being his first school in the NE he has delivered the course to.

Some of the main objectives of this opportunity:

– Create a learning experience which shows employability within the Construction Industry and explore the part that the Concrete Sector plays in this Industry. 

– Develop an awareness of career opportunities that may not have been referenced prior to the program. 

– Create lifelong learning skills and show how these materialise in future work opportunities.
