The Design & Technology Department is made up of the following accommodation:
Room 110 – this is a dual purpose room where the Graphic Communication courses can be taught having 20x PCs and drawing board equipment. It is also the departments Engineering Science room.
Room 111 – this is our dedicated wood workshop where many of the junior classes will be taught and where the Design & Manufacture course practical is mainly taught.
It has a range of wood working equipment with 20 x benches, 3 x wood Lathes, pillars drills, Disc sander and mortising machine, a wide variety of hand tools etc.
Room 112 – this is a Graphic Communication class with 20 x PCs boards etc. it is also used for Design & Manufacture design work.
Room 113 – This is mainly a metal based workshop with 4 x Centre Lathes, Forge area and Casting area & floor mounted grinder and a wide variety of hand tools etc. All 20 benches are dual purpose so can be used for some wood work projects if required.
Most rooms are set up with smart boards and visualizers.
We also have our technician Mr Smith’s workshop for preparing materials and storing equipment and consumables.
