The TechnipFMC Drawing Office Apprenticeship Scheme is run in conjunction with Tullos Training based at Altens in Aberdeen, and is tailored to suit our requirements. Apprentices will ideally have an eye for detail and creative talent with qualifications in graphic communication or art & design related subjects. Awareness of and an interest in 3d visualisation and modelling will also be a distinct advantage as candidates will be expected to develop skills with regard to modelling and animation using Autodesk 3ds Max software alongside their draughting core skills. The Apprentices attend Tullos Training for the first part of their training, where they follow the SEMTA (Science Engineering and Manufacturing Technologies Alliance) Modern Apprenticeship framework. The SVQ Level 2, is workshop based with core engineering workshop skills.

When the Apprentices leave Tullos Training they will have obtained their SVQ Level 2 in Performing Engineering Operations and their NC in Mechanical Engineering.

The Apprentices would then return to the Drawing Office to start their training for their SVQ Level 3 in Engineering Technical Support (Engineering Drawing), also attend Day Release (1 day per week) to North East Scotland College to study for their Higher National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering (2 years’ duration).

During this period the Apprentices become part of the Drawing Office Team and are assigned tasks suitable to their growing skills, these tasks are used to complete their SVQ Level 3 portfolio, which covers all the aspects of the Drawing Office. Tullos Training supports them with regular assessment visits over this period where their progress is monitored by their assessor and the relevant personnel in the TechnipFMC Drawing Office. At the Conclusion of 4 years the Apprentices will have completed their SVQ Level 2 & 3 and their NC & HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
