International Women’s Day

13th March 2019

CHC Helicopters

A group of three AGS Girls attended and event run by CHC Helicopters at RGC on International Women’s Day. This event was a fantastic opportunity to interact with female pupils who may have an interest in pursuing a degree / career in the industry.

This was a great opportunity to allow our pupils to informally meet / ask questions and receive advice on the industry etc.

The event had a selection of female guest speakers, who were able to share their stories, journey and successes with attendees and to inform them of their career path.

Positions included; Pilots, Engineers, Business Leaders and Industry Professionals who were able to share their expertise and knowledge with female individuals.

Despite their organisation being involved in Aviation / Engineering, they had have females from a variety of different roles within the organisation to speak and offer their advice and expertise to students. These range from a wide variety of organisations in Aberdeen which operate in the sector.

“The event empowered me to do the best I can to push against all odds. The ladies I met gave me lots of advice and I really enjoyed the event as a whole.” – Vanessa Emmett B4
